When you are hurt in a car accident, there are a lot of things that run through your mind, but most people aren't focused on suing the other driver or their own insurance company. Unfortunately, because of the way the world works, most people find that they are given far less of a settlement than they deserve, especially if the accident wasn't their fault. I wanted to create a blog all about choosing a better accident and personal injury attorney, so that you can prevent longterm financial ramifications from your accident. I know that a lot of these tips helped me along my journey.

Choosing to place a loved one in a nursing home can be a very difficult decision. Most people spend a lot of time searching for the right nursing home, and it is natural to expect that their loved one will be properly cared for and treated with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, nursing home neglect can occur, and residents of a nursing home may be unable or afraid to tell anyone what is going on.
It is not uncommon to need a nursing home neglect attorney when you have a loved one who is being neglected in the nursing home that they live in. If you have a loved one living in a nursing home, make sure you know these common signs of neglect:
Unexplained Sores and Bruises
Elderly people can bruise more easily, but their should be explanations for these bruises. When you visit a loved one in a nursing home, be observant and look for signs of injury. If you notice numerous bruises or lacerations, make sure you bring up the fact to the director of the nursing home. In the worst case scenario, an employee may be harming your loved one. It is also possible that your loved one is not being properly monitored and is falling or injuring themselves because there is no one available to assist them in day to day tasks.
Another common sign of neglect is pressure sores on the back side of the body. These typically occur when a person is left lying in a bed for an extended period of time. Even if your loved one is ill and no longer mobile, medical precautions should be taken to prevent pressure sores. The presence of numerous pressure sores is often a red flag indicating neglect.
Sudden Decrease in Personal Hygiene
Residents in nursing homes often need assistance with bathing, dressing, brushing teeth and hair, and in many cases, properly using the rest room. Nursing home staff is expected to help the residents with these tasks. If you visit your loved one and notice a sudden decrease in his or her personal hygiene, it may be because the staff is neglecting to do their job properly.
Change in Behavior
Just because a person is elderly and needs to live in a nursing home does not mean that they don't have feelings or are unable to think. It is not uncommon for residents of a nursing home who are being neglected or mistreated in a nursing home to show marked changes in their behavior. The changes may include becoming very withdrawn, showing signs of fear around members of the nursing home staff, or developing acute anxiety when they have never had a problem with anxiety in the past.
